Windows SmartScreen warning

When you run the installer, Windows Defender SmartScreen will display a blue popup saying “Windows protected your PC” and show the publisher as “Unknown publisher”. This is normal — it happens because Loginator is new and hasn't yet built enough download reputation with Microsoft.

Windows protected your PC
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.
App: Loginator-...-Windows-Setup.exe
Publisher: Unknown publisher

How to proceed:

  1. On the SmartScreen popup, click “More info” (small text link below the warning message).
  2. A “Run anyway” button will appear at the bottom. Click it to continue.
  3. The installer will start normally. This only happens on the first run.

Loginator is built directly from our automated CI/CD pipeline. No data is collected — everything stays encrypted on your device. The SmartScreen warning will eventually disappear as more users install the app.

How to install

Common questions

Is the installer safe?
Yes. The installer is built directly from our source code using GitHub Actions CI. Loginator stores all data locally on your device with AES-256 encryption — nothing is sent to any server unless you explicitly enable feedback.
Why does Windows SmartScreen show a warning?
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warns about any app that hasn't built a reputation through many downloads yet. Since Loginator is a newer app with an unsigned installer, SmartScreen flags it as “Unknown publisher.” This does not mean the app is unsafe. Loginator is built from an automated CI pipeline and stores all data encrypted on your device. Click More info → Run anyway to proceed. As more users install, the warning will eventually stop appearing.
Can I use Loginator without admin rights (Portable / Zero-Install)?
Yes. If your PC blocks .exe installers or requires administrator rights, you can use the Loginator Web App directly in any browser with full offline AES-256 encrypted local storage, or extract the portable standalone package from the releases repository. No admin privileges or installation required.
How do I update the app?
Come back to this page and download the latest installer. Running it again will update the existing installation — your data is preserved.
